17th BOFF between 27 and 30 December at two venues in Bovec

The traditional Bovec film festival about nature and sports in it, Bovec Outdoor Film Festival (BOFF), will be back on screen and under the screen in Bovec in the last days of the year.
The time is approaching for the seventeenth edition of the Bovec film festival BOFF (Bovec Outdoor Film Festival). Between Friday 27 December and Monday 30 December, 23 films about nature and sports and exploits in it will be screened on two screens in Bovec, including six Slovenian ones. As always, the BOFF program does not only include films.

The opening day will take place at the Bovec Cultural Center, where the first film will also be screened there – the feature film Alpha, also a Slovenian co-production, which is not in the competition program. The following day, the festival will be held at Stergulčeva House, and will be entirely dedicated to lectures and discussions with book authors. Four such events are scheduled from 6 p.m. onwards.
On Sunday and Monday, BOFF will once again take over the large hall of the Bovec Cultural Center, where screenings will be held every day from 5 p.m. onwards.
Slovenian films are grouped into two sections in the second part of Sunday's schedule, from 8:30 p.m. onwards. This time, all six of them are from the Nature category.
In addition to films about nature and ecology, the range of content about sports is "standard", if such a thing even exists in activities that are not limited by rules and the Olympic Games: mountains, snow, skis, boards, climbing, mountaineering, bicycles, white water, running... For every outdoor sports fan, what, if not exactly "their" sports, then the spirit that unites them.
The festival will also feature several authors and actors, both domestic and foreign, and viewers will be able to get to know them through discussions after the screenings.

Attendance program
The photography exhibitions at the Cultural Center will feature works by Rožle Bregar and the late Urban Golob.
On Saturday, Alenka Klinar will present her book Po vrvi do svetlovke (On the Rope to the Light), while the second book of the evening is connected to the photography exhibition - the authors of the book Soča od izvira do morja (Soča from the Source to the Sea) are Rok Rozman and Rožle Bregar.
The topic of Saturday's lectures from 8 p.m. onwards will be mountaineering, with lectures by Monika Kambič and Marco Milanese.
Before the lectures and screenings, there is plenty of time each day to jump outdoors and underground. Festival visitors can take part in excursions to the mountains and caves or try their hand at the "ice challenge" - this part of winter is not yet threatened, the Soča will be cold for a long time.
